From the "Ritterschaftlichen Gutsbrauerei", in 1806 the Royal Brewery became Köstritz.
19th
century
Köstritzer won many friends over the years. Whether Goethe or Otto von Bismarck - big names as well as ordinary people acquired the taste.
1875
An influential head of the new success story was Rudolf Zersch. After acquiring the Brewery in 1875 he also laid the cornerstone for a new building on which the Köstritzer Brewery is still based today. Production was now able to be significantly increased!
1948
The Brewery became public property in 1948. As an export item, the beer specialty from Bad Köstritz soon also became a sought-after ambassador of the Thuringian art of brewing.
1979
The extensive reconstruction measures began in 1979 and reached their conclusion in 1990.
1991
The Köstritzer Schwarzbier
brauerei had been a renowned family business since 1991 and became one of the most modern and largest brewing sites in Thuringia in just a few years.
1993
Köstritzer was reintroduced throughout Germany in September 1993 with great success, two years later Köstritzer Schwarzbier had already become the nationwide market leader.
2001
The national market leadership has been maintained since 1995 and Köstritzer Schwarzbier has since been exported to over 40 countries.
2008
Köstritzer Schwarzbier positions itself as a connoisseur beer for those special moments with a new advertising campaign. The shared experience of special moments was at the forefront of the TV spots and advertising motifs.
2010
The new Köstritzer premium box with even more carrying comfort is introduced.
2011
The new Köstritzer branded bottle with noble relief, sleek form and distinctive base goes on sale.
